5 Tips for Helping Your Family Manage Anger



Do you or your kids ever struggle with anger?  

Most of us have dealt with troubling emotions at some point in our lives. Anger is a normal emotion, and it isn't always a bad thing. 


Anger can signal us that important changes are needed. But, if left unmanaged it can also unintentionally scare children, leaving them anxiously awaiting the next blow-up.

When we consciously choose to explore our anger and understand it, we can take steps to change our behavior and our perspective of the situation.

Is it possible to stop ourselves from falling back into old, comfortable habits and reactive patterns where we remain unaware, closed-off, and disconnected?

In my family, we are very sensitive to anger and harsh interactions. Some may say, "Well, suck it up and learn to deal with it - because the world is what it is."

And I say... I'm aiming higher. The world is what we make it.


I'm not going to ignore anger. I want to embrace it until it loses its power over me. I won't let it own me, but I will allow it to inform me.
